Classically hand-finished in white limewash throughout, this 2-door, 2-shelf showcase cabinet features part-glazed doors and an enclosed mango wood bottom compartment finished in ornate hand carving.

The natural beauty of mango wood is evident, while four corner feet and a slight top overhang complete an attractive, multifunctional piece of display/storage Indian furniture.

This Vintage Style piece is handcrafted using new, sustainable wood. It is artisan-finished to appear vintage with a distressed/aged appearance. Repeat orders are welcome.

Our supplier is a small, family owned company specialising in upcycling and recycling furniture from India. They provide skilled employment to around 40 workers including skilled carpenters and artisan painters whose skills give furniture a new lease of life. The work is relatively well paid and we have visited them on several occasions and found a well organised environment with a happy workforce.

They support several local charities, including an organisation that teaches blind students, an organisation that supports homeless children and a local project that feeds and looks after homeless animals. Their policies align with the 10 Principles of Fair Trade as set out by the WFTO, the World Fair Trade Organisation.

Mango wood comes from a fast-growing, sustainable fruit tree. It is a by-product of food production and a resource from trees that have naturally reached their maximum productive lifespan. Carefully managed plantations regulate crop rotation. Mango wood furniture offers all the benefits of a densely grained hardwood, combined with natural protective oils.

Although not quite as heavy as teak, the wood is highly resistant to moisture, warping and cracking. It offers versatility in design and is suitable for both practical and aesthetic uses. Marvellous natural grain patterns and hand-painted finishes create resilient pieces of stylish distinction.
